LOOK: BOC-CDO Confiscates P15 Million Of Smuggled Vegetables From China

Mga higala! Bureau of Customs (BOC) Port of Cagayan de Oro confiscated shipments of smuggled vegetables worth around P15 million yesterday, July 7, 2022, at the PHIVIDEC Compound in Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental!

According to BOC, the said vegetables were from China and were only declared as “Autolysed Yeast in Powder Form”. However, upon inspection, it was discovered that the shipments actually contained red onions, white onions, and carrots.

ICYDK, this is a clear violation of RA 10863 of the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act for misdeclaration of goods.

    I hope that instead of destroying this food, it is given to the poor to feed them.
