BOC-CDO Confiscates P160 Million Worth Of Smuggled Onions

Mga higala! The Bureau of Customs-Port of Cagayan de Oro (BOC-CDO) has confiscated smuggled onions with a total worth of around P160 million from August to November 2021!

The latest is a shipment of over 20 containers misdeclared as “Mantou” or Chinese Steamed Bun worth P67.2 million.

This was discovered during a spot-check inspection at the MICTSI container yard in Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental.

(BOC may need to destroy these onions since its shipment had no Sanitary and Phytosanitary Import Clearance.)

ICYDK, separate shipments of smuggled onions worth P13.5 million (September 18), P3 million (October 15), P50 million ( November 8-9), and more were also seized during the mentioned period.
