LOOK: BOC Confiscates Smuggled Cigarettes Worth P40 Million @ Tagoloan

Mga higala! The Customs Intelligence and Investigation Service (CIIS) of the Bureau of Customs-10 (BOC-10) in Cagayan de Oro City has recently confiscated smuggled cigarettes from China, worth around P40 million, which arrived last week at the Mindanao Container Terminal in Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental!

The CIIS was informed about the said shipment through “Project Crocodile”, a global database operated jointly by customs administrations from different countries.

BOC then issued a Pre-Lodgement Control Order against the shipment followed by an Alert Order for the violation of National Tobacco Administration (NTA) Memorandum Circular No. 03 Series of 2004 and NTA Board Resolution No. 079-2005 in relation to Section 1113 (f) and Section 1400 (Misdeclaration) of R.A 10863, otherwise known as the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act (CMTA).
