22 Jun Bosch Cagayan de Oro Business Hub to Open in August 2016
In a press conference, tool and technology giant Bosch announced that the company closed its fiscal year with $50 million or 45 million euros in combined sales in the Philippines, 17.6% higher than 2014’s $42.5 million or 38.25 million euros. Bosch also expanded its workforce in the Philippines beyond 50% to 460 associates, a partial effect of the opening of its Drive and Control Business division in April 2015.
As said by managing director of Bosch Philippines Andrew Powell, “Along with our expansion efforts in the Philippines, I am confident that our strength in innovation will continue to drive our growth.” And that, “It is a very exciting time to be in Southeast Asia right now, particularly with the Philippines contributing strongly to Bosch’s growth in the region.”
Bosch began its third business hub’s construction outside Metro Manila in 2015, with the other two in Cebu and Davao. And this coming August 2016, Bosch will arrive in Cagayan de Oro with the aim of addressing the rapid development in the Mindanao region. The Bosch Cagayan de Oro business hub will provide training, showroom areas, sales and after-sales support for Bosch products and solutions traversing every Bosch division present in the country.
As stated by Powell, the new hub in Cagayan de Oro will be beneficial for Bosch’s business sector in Industrial Technology, unlocking opportunities to offer solutions in industrial applications. With Cagayan de Oro being referred as an emerging city to mention its fast growth, which also offers considerable potential in the manufacturing sector with the rapid increase in number of factories within and around the area.
Other provincial areas such as Iloilo and Baguio are also being considered by the Bosch Philippines as locations to establish additional business hubs.
