Brgy Exit Pass To Be Enforced Starting April 20

Mga higala! The City Government of Cagayan de Oro will finally start the implementation of its BARANGAY EXIT PASS policy this Monday, April 20, as an additional measure against COVID-19!

With this, only one person per household will be allowed to go outside their homes to purchase essential goods or run errands, provided that they can present an exit pass, which is now being dispensed by the city via a house-to-house distribution.

ICYDK, public markets and other essential establishments will be requiring a barangay exit pass from customers before entry.

In a recent press briefing, Mayor Oscar Moreno expressed that he aims to prevent overcrowding and avoid local transmission of COVID-19 with the help of this policy.

He also added that “I issued Executive Order No. 062 requiring barangay exit passes to reinforce the requirement on all city residents to stay at home especially at this time when city residents are getting over complacent because the health data seemed to be improving. I am afraid (of a resurgence of cases) should the people get overconfident.”

(Government and private company employees are exempted from this policy. They can just show their work ID.)
