06 Jul Bureau of Customs Forms a 7-Man Team to Pursue After Corrupt Personnel, Smugglers and Illegal Brokers in CDO Ports
Composed of trusted Bureau of Customs (BOC) Collection District 10 personnel, BOC formed a seven-man team which was given the task of apprehending BOC personnel who will be found to be conspiring with smugglers and illegal brokers at ports in Cagayan de Oro.
The said team was ordered by Customs Deputy Commissioner for Intelligence Jessie Dellosa. Continues to be in charge of the Intelligence Group in holdover capacity until this coming July 31 or until he will be replaced based on Memorandum Circular No. 1 issued by the Office of the President, Dellosa said that all instructions.
According to Customs Intelligence and Investigation Services (CIIS) Region 10 chief Alvin Enciso, the BOC has Nicanor Faeldon as its new commissioner, however, there were still vacant positions yet to be filled up. He also revealed that BOC-10 Customs Collector Ruby Claudia Alameda will lead the said seven-team to be supported by the CIIS, Customs Police.
As said by Enciso, “The Anti-Smuggling, Anti-Corruption Team will be spearheading crackdown operations to police its own ranks in all the ports under BOC-10, even if there is no movements from Manila Headquarters yet,” adding that, “If there are Customs officials and personnel within Collection District 10 who are involved in smuggling operations, kami na ang bahala manghuli sa mga rank and file namin.”
