In a report from Philstar, the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) office in Region 10 said last December 3, Saturday, that 3 bus companies serving the Cagayan de Oro-Bukidnon routes have been ordered to collect uniform fares.

According to Aminoden Guro, LTFRB regional director, the re-imposition of the original fare for buses that ply to and from the cities of Malaybalay, Maramag, and Valencia, which are all in Bukidnon, was ordered to avoid unfair competition between bus operators. The said 3 bus companies which agreed to abide by the uniform fare rates consisted of the Pabama, Rural Transit Mindanao Inc, and Super 5.

Here follows the fares for specific routes under the LTFRB-imposed tariff:

  • Cagayan de Oro-Malaybalay (vice versa)
    • Regular fare – P150
    • Special privilege rate (students and senior citizens) – P120
  • Cagayan de Oro-Valencia
    • Regular fare – P200
    • Special privilege rate – P160
  • Cagayan de Oro-Maramag
    • Regular fare – P240
    • Special rate – P190

It was on December 1, 2016 that the fare rates took effect, however, bus operators asked the agency to move to December 5, 2016 its implementation to give them enough time to inform the public.
