23 Mar Buses and Other Transport Vehicles to Continue Operation in Region 10
Local government units in Mindanao have implemented community quarantine and lockdown measures in an effort to stop the spread of COVID-19. Still, public transport providers including bus companies continue to operate in Region 10.
Buses and PUVs are allowed to serve the public as long as they abide by various guidelines such as “social distancing” and other safety precautions to protect commuters.
Jeepneys are ordered to only load half the total seating capacity of their units, taxis are allowed to carry at most 3 passengers, while buses should implement the one-seat-apart rule.
Cagayan de Oro Mayor Oscar Moreno proposed that LGUs in Misamis Oriental must make a synchronized checkpoint system, in order to make the operations of medical personnel and police officers as hassle-free and as smooth as possible.
