This brings the city’s cumulative coronavirus cases to 281 and the total local cases to 63.

277th. 30-year-old male, local/APOR, from Brgy. Macabalan

  • employee of a big company in Cagayan de Oro
  • underwent a swab test facilitated by their company, samples sent to Davao laboratory on August 24
  • results came back positive on August 27
  • no symptoms, no comorbidities
  • placed in a city isolation unit
  • 5 household contacts identified and also quarantined
  • transferred to a temporary treatment and monitoring facility (TTMF)

278th. 22-year-old male, local/APOR, resident of Brgy. Puntod

  • underwent a swab test facilitated by their company, samples sent to Davao laboratory
  • results came back positive on August 28
  • experienced fever, no comorbidities
  • now in the holding area of their company
  • 3 household contacts identified and quarantined
  • other family contacts now being validated
  • to be transferred to TTMF

279th. 34-year-old female, local/APOR, from Brgy. Gusa

  • employee of a government institution
  • placed in a city isolation unit after experiencing symptoms on August 21
  • swabbed on August 27, results came back positive on August 28
  • 4 household contacts identified and quarantined
  • 15 workplace contacts now being verified
  • to be transferred to TTMF

280th.  56-year-old female, local case, resident of a gated community in Brgy. Bulua

  • has travel history to Marawi City together with husband and child
  • arrived in CDO on August 23
  • experienced shortness of breathing on August 24, a known asthmatic
  • admitted to NMMC on August 27 and swabbed on the same day
  • results came out positive on August 28
  • no other comorbidities
  • close family contacts to be quarantined

281st. 60-year-old female, local case, resident of Macanhan, Brgy. Carmen

  • a vegetable vendor at Cogon
  • experienced symptoms on August 24
  • admitted to a private hospital due to difficulty in breathing
  • underwent an x-ray, results show the patient has pneumonia
  • swabbed on August 26, results came out positive on August 28
  • comorbidity: hypertension
  • now admitted at NMMC
  • 6 household contacts identified, further contact tracing now ongoing
