17 Jan Cagayan de Oro Gov’t Approves Ordinance Regulating Tattoo Studios

Mga higala! The Cagayan de Oro City Government has approved an ordinance regulating TATTOO studios in the city.

According to Sunstar CDO, the ordinance will regulate tattooing and body piercing and the operation of tattoo parlors in order to protect the people against health risks and all possible complications that may arise in receiving tattoos.

Every tattoo studio will now need to acquire necessary licenses and permits from the City Health Office (CHO), that can only be obtained by passing various hygiene and safety standards upon inspections conducted by CHO personnel.

Violators of the ordinance can face imprisonment of not less than 1 month or a fine of at least P5,000.
