27 May Cagayan de Oro City Police Eyes on Enhancing Anti-Drugs Campaign
Cagayan de Oro City has been plagued by undisciplined illegal drug dealers, with this, the Cagayan de Oro City Police Office (COCPO) said that their policemen were ordered to enhance their campaign against illegal drugs and conduct more operations aiming drug dealers.
The drop of the frequency of the arrests of the drug dealers from July of last year up to April this year prompted Police Superintendent Michael John Deloso to take this action.
There are 315 arrested persons involved in illegal drugs from July 1 to December 31, 2015. These persons were arrested from the 212 directed operations. For January 1 to April 30 this year, 156 operations have been conducted that has captured 240 persons in the process.
Speaking about the figures, Deloso said, “Naay pag-ubos pero kung imong tan-awon ang ihap pud sa operations nga gihimo medyo menos man pud ang January to April nga period.”
Herer are the other figures from the operations conducted by COCPO.
Aside from this, Deloso wants to enhance the conviction rate on anti-illegal drug related cases. Currently, hundreds of drug personalities are under surveillance by the COCPO, said Deloso.
70 percent of COCPO’s watch list according to Deloso has already been arrested.
