09 May Cagayan de Oro Dragon Boat Teams Win Races In Cebu & Malaysia
Mga higala! Cagayan de Oro City’s DRAGON BOAT teams won races in various dragon boat competitions last week, in Cebu City and Malaysia!
CGY Oro Dragons participated in the Iskander Puteri International Dragon Boat Festival of Malaysia last May 4-5 and championed in their International Junior U24 Open Category (2oo meters). They also won as 1st runners up in the International Premiere Mixed category (200 & 500 meters) and the International Premiere U24 Open (500 meters).
Meanwhile, the CDOC-PWD Dragons, Cagayan de Oro’s first “Persons with Disability” team, conquered the Cebu City Dragon Boat Regatta and defeated dragon boat teams from all over the Philippines.
The city’s Brave Heart Dragon Team also participated in the Cebu City competition and battled against the Philippine Army Dragons and other elite teams. They garnered the 2nd runner up spot in the Small Boat Open category (200 meters).
These amazing teams then visited Mayor Oscar Moreno at the City Hall yesterday, May 8, and were praised for the pride and honor they brought to the city.
