WARNING! An increasing number of Canine Distemper cases have been observed in Cagayan de Oro City and various areas in Misamis Oriental. Please keep your beloved dogs safe.
Canine distemper is a virus that affects a dog’s respiratory, gastrointestinal, respiratory and central nervous systems, as well as the conjunctival membranes of the eye, which can all lead to death. This can be easily transmitted through direct contact with fresh urine, blood or saliva. Sneezing, coughing and sharing of food and water bowls are also possible ways to transmit the disease.
Symptoms include sneezing, coughing and thick mucus coming from the eyes and nose. Also observe your dogs for sudden fever, lethargy, vomiting, and diarrhea, depression and/or loss of appetite.

- Patag
- Lapasan
