12 Aug “Carlo de Oro” Boxing Gym To Be Built In CDO

Mga higala! The Carlo de Oro boxing gym, a gym named after Silver Medalist Carlo Paalam, will soon be built in Cagayan de Oro City!

According to an article by Manila Bulletin, the said gym is expected to rise in the next few months and will be located inside a 10-hectare LGU-owned property in Brgy. Lumbia.

This facility will be beside a 3-story multi-purpose building that aims to house provincial athletes.

Although no official partnership has been announced yet between the CDO government and the Alliances of Boxing Association of the Philippines (ABAP) regarding the said project, ABAP secretary-general Ed Picson disclosed that Mayor Oscar Moreno and boxing chief Ricky Vargas already had talks that could lead to an area of mutual cooperation.

ICYDK, when finished, the Carlo de Oro boxing gym will be able to help a lot of the country’s young boxers, since most of them are from Visayas and Mindanao.
