22 May Kagay-anon Boxer Carlo Paalam Wins Gold @ International Boxing Tournament in Russia
Carlo Paalam, Cagayan de Oro’s boxing pride, and an RP national team member won the Light Flyweight category in the 2018 Konstantin Korotkov International Memorial Boxing Tournament held in Russia.

Paalam paved his way to the top after defeating the best contender of Russia Team A in the quarterfinals with an overwhelming point difference of 5-0 and outboxed Shin Jong-hun of Korea in the semifinals, 4-1.

According to Coach Elmer Pamisa, Mayor Oscar Moreno’s amateur boxing development program, which helped Paalam develop his skills over the years help in their success at the international boxing competition.
