09 Aug CdeO car dealers to lend cars for Higalaay Festival security

Some car and motorcycle dealers in Cagayan de Oro City have expressed their willingness to let police and military forces to borrow their car units in order to boost security measures during the celebrations in this year’s Higalaay Festival.
In an article from Sunstar Cagayan de Oro, City Councilor Romeo Calizo, chairperson of the City Council committee on police, fire, and public safety, said that the offer came after local car dealership businesses learned about the need of city’s security task force of additional vehicle services for their operations. Car dealers include Chevrolet, Kia, Isuzu, Ford, and Hyundai with Mitsubishi also committed to participate.
Calizo also said that their team has been receiving bomb threats on an average of three times a week causing the security level to be escalated to level 3.
He added that the cars will be used once the Memorandum of Understanding has been signed by CdeO Mayor Oscar Moreno.
