30 Jun CdeO government skills trainees graduated today
In an article from Cagayan de Oro News Bulletin, another batch of trainees of the Skills Training Program of the Cagayan de Oro City Government graduated today, June 30.
This program was made possible through the Community Improvement Division wherein six short courses from TESDA were offered to the students.
There is a total of 467 trainees enrolled in different courses where 128 were enrolled in housekeeping, 24 in carpentry, 20 in masonry, 54 in plumbing, 109 in shielded metal arc welding and 132 in electrical installation and maintenance.
The objective of the project is to give opportunities to poor citizens of the locality to study short term courses so that they will become well-rounded and skilled enough for future employment.
The Poverty Alleviation Program is one of the agenda of CdeO Mayor Oscar Moreno which prioritizes the poor in order to help them alleviate their lives.
Aside from sending them to school, the city government will also help in securing jobs for the trainees after accomplishing the 6-month livelihood skills training program and until they pass the NC2 exam.
