05 Oct CdeO Gov’t, SHFC Launch Planning Workshop on Barangay Based Shelter Program

The City Administration of Cagayan de Oro City in collaboration with the Social Housing Finance Corporation (SHFC) conducted a two-day planning workshop on Barangay Based Shelter Program from October 2 to 3, 2017.
In an article by Cagayan de Oro News Bulletin, the workshop was participated in by officials of 16 barangays where the housing program was initially launched as well as officials from the Federation of Urban Poor and homeowner’s association in the city.
Head of the City Housing and Urban Development Department, Engr. Ermin Pimentel, said that the aim of the event is to give the participating barangay officials with guidelines on how to produce shelter programs for the Informal Settler Families (ISFs) in their respective barangays.
During the activity, incumbent CdeO Mayor Oscar Moreno was happy with the result of the event especially that it has been noted that shelter programs are one of the most difficult government services to deliver to the people.
Moreo said that everybody should go hand in hand with the barangay officials and the city administration in order for the said program to bear positive results.
