30 Oct CdeO launches ORO Computer Aided Emergency Response Center (OCA ERC) ORO 911
To be able to dispatch emergency response more quickly and timely, the city government of Cagayan de Oro has launched its new 911 emergency hotline number today, October 30.
It could be remembered that Davao was the first city in the Philippines to have an active 911 system and Cagayan de Oro City is now the second city in Mindanao to adopt the 911 Emergency Response Unit.
The emergency hotline number is open 24/7 and all incoming calls will directly connect to the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Department (CDRRMD) office, which is also the Operation Center.
For the meantime, the localized emergency number is only available to Globe Telecom subscribers but city government seeks partnerships with other telecommunication providers like PLDT/Smart.
