14 Jun Kagay-anon long jumper, Janry Ubas, grabs gold in Thailand
Kagay-anon athlete, Janry Ubas, got hold of the gold medal in the men’s long jump category in the Thailand Open Track and Field Championships at the Thammasat University Sports Complex in Thailand.
In an article from businessmirror.com, the 23-year old former decathlete recorded a 7.78 meters leap against two Chinese Taipei long jumpers Hua-yu Wen, 7.53 meters, and Jia- xing Lin, 7.42 meters.
In comparison, his stint in the city of Bangkok, Thailand did not parallel his exemplary performance of 7.88 meters leap during the Philippine Amateur Track and Field Association trials last week in his home country. With his 7.88 meters leap, he was given credit for beating a ten year record of 7.87 meters from the South East Asian (SEA) Games.
Ubas also joined the SEA Games in 2015 where he won a decathlon bronze medal in Singapore.
