22 Jun CdeO Mayor seeks TRO vs dismissal order
Cagayan de Oro City Mayor Oscar Moreno has filed a petition to the Court of Appeals for a Temporary Restraining Order (TRO) of his dismissal order released by the Office of the Ombudsman.
In an article from Sunstar.com, Moreno’s legal counsel Atty. Dale Mordeno said that the petition was filed to secure a TRO for the Mayor’s dismissal order while the Office of the Ombudsman is still in the process of examining the motion for reconsideration that the Mayor counterfiled.
It is also in the worries of the Mayor’s side that the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) might implement the dismissal order anytime soon while the Ombudsman has yet to dawn its judgment on the Mayor’s motion for reconsideration.
In light of the Mayor Moreno’s worries, the office of the DILG has reportedly said in a text message that it has not yet received a copy of the dismissal order.
On the other hand, Mayor Moreno considers his situation as having been originated from political persecution and said that his critics in politics were behind all this.
