Cagayan de Oro City Police Office (COCPO) chief Senior Superintendent Robert Roy Bahian commended the contribution of local media in the anti-illegal drugs campaign and other criminal activities.
In an article from Sunstar.com, Bahian acknowledged the efforts of the media to help police forces in bringing forth change and development in the community. It was also in the statement of the Bahian to thank the media for forging a strong relationship between the police and the community and in maintaining peace and order.
He particularly cited the role of the media in the detainment of certain personalities linked to the Maute Islamist-extremist group.
He added that the accomplishment of the government in making it sure that the law is being implemented is also the accomplishment of the community including the media.
