11 Aug CdeO police confirms no presence of rebels in Brgy. Tumpagon and San Simon
In a Facebook post by Magnum Radio Reporter, Menzie Montes, the Cagayan de Oro Police Office (COCPO) in a joint statement with the Philippine National Police (PNP) Region 10 and the Philippine Army said that gossips about the presence of armed rebels in barangays Tumpagon and San Simon are not true.
PSSUPT Robert Roy V. Bahian, COCPO City Director, said that a joint operation was conducted by the Task Force Oro, Phil. Army, RPSB 10 and COCPO last Wednesday, August 9 to confirm the reports but it was found out that no rebel group is hiding in the area.
However, Bahian directed his station commander to continue surveillance so that violent activities can be prevented and to maintain peace and order around the two barangays.
He also encouraged the public to coordinate with authorities and report any possibilities of anti-government group invasions through the COCPO hotline numbers, 09364017888 (CTOC) and 09985986972 (CIU).
