The police of Cagayan de Oro City assured that the festivities in the upcoming Higalaay Festival during the city fiesta will be observed with a tight security.
In an article from Sunstar.com, CdeO Police Office spokesperson Mardy Hortillosa said that the police department of the city is almost done with the planning of the security measures to be implemented during the fiesta.
CdeO City Mayor Oscar Moreno said that the events and activities for the fiesta have already been finalized with the cancellation of Kumbira, the biggest culinary competition, and trade show in Northern Mindanao.
He added that despite of the ongoing crisis in the nearby Marawi City, the celebration of the fiesta in CdeO should push through.
Being a supporter of President Duterte’s declaration of Martial Law in Mindanao, Moreno said that the rule is essential to ending terrorism which might spill over to other places in the country.
