17 Aug Cdeo Police Says City Is Cleared From Illegal Gambling
In an article from Sunstar Cagayan de Oro, all station commanders of the Cagayan de Oro City Police Office (COCPO) claimed that their areas of responsibilities are now free from illegal gambling activities.
This was according to COCPO Spokesperson Chief Inspector Mardy Hortillosa II after he gave the deadline of stopping illegal gambling activities last Friday, August 11, to all 10 station police commanders in the city.
However, Hortillosa noted that the claims from the station chiefs are still subject for confirmation to be conducted by the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) before finally acknowledged.
Hortillosa also said that there will be a so-called “red team” formation which will carry out a counter checking to confirm the claims of the station commanders.
He added that if the illegal gambling activities in an area are still visibly and operating, there is a possibility that the station commander of that area will be dismissed from his post.
In addition, Hortillosa urged the public to report any illegal gambling activities near their places to the COCPO Officials.
