27 Apr Cagayan de Oro public vehicles get LTFRB inspection
In an aim to boost the safety of public streets in the city, Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB)-Northern Mindanao inspects Public Utility Vehicles (PUV) last April 26, 2017. The inspection took place at different bus terminals in Cagayan de Oro which highlighted bus companies plying to different municipalities and provinces from Cagayan de Oro City.
An article on Sunstar.com reported LTFRB-Regional Mindanao Director Aminoden Guro saying that the inspection of PUVs is important to save lives of people by making sure that PUVs and drivers are in good shape before and while they take to the streets to avoid accidents.
Guro has also mandated that the drivers should only drive six hours a day to make sure that they are always in good condition to drive safely. He also noted during their inspection that bus companies, Pabama Tours, Rural Transit Mindanao, Inc., and Super 5 have so far followed their protocols to ensure smooth and safety operation. In particular, Pabama Tours caught Guro’s attention with its newly acquired bus units that have a lot of features to allow a comfortable and worthwhile driving.
Guro also stressed out that those companies and drivers who will violate their provisions will be dealt with accordingly.
