18 Aug CdeO Ranks Next To Davao In The 2017 Most Competitive Cities In Vismin Region

Cagayan de Oro City has something to celebrate other than its annual Higalaay Festivities. The city has ranked 2nd next to Davao in the 2017 Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Index which was unveiled last August 16 during the 5th Regional Competitiveness Summit held at the Philippine International Convention Center.
Overall, the city of golden friendship ranked 10th among the highly urbanized cities in the country. Quezon City received the top spot while Davao City was placed on third. See the ranking in the below chart:
Although this has been a major setback since the city has been ranking fairly in the past few years (e.g. 2014 2nd among the city rankings; 2015 6th among the highly urbanized cities; and in 2016 7th), the city has much to celebrate since the summit has highlighted the city’s efforts to implement an online system for assessing and paying taxes, translating to higher revenues.
