02 Jan CdeO’s New Year: Zero Casualties
In an interview conducted by Bombo Radyo, the Cagayan de Oro City Police Office (COCPO) confirmed that they have categorized the city’s New Year as generally peaceful.
COCPO Spokesperson C/Insp. Mardi Hortillosa said that there was no gun and firecracker-related injuries reported during and after the celebration.
Meanwhile, a stray bullet interrupted the New Year celebration of a family in Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental. Just minutes after midnight, Jerry Arubo was surprised when he suddenly felt the heat of a bullet pass beside him as they discovered a hole in their ceiling.
The Tagoloan Municipal Police Station is currently investigating the said incident. SP04 Richie Raiz stated that based on initial results, the bullet originated 50-80 meters away from the Arubo family’s location.
