Receiving the award for the city of Cagayan de Oro winning 3rd place in this year’s National Literacy Award Outstanding Local Government Program -Highly Urbanized City category were City Councilor Suzette Magtajas-Daba, Councilor Annie Daba and DepEd CDO representatives in place for Mayor Moreno which was held at Seameo-Innotech in Diliman, Quezon City last December 8, 2016.

The said award was presented by the Department of Education through the Literacy Coordinating Council awarded to local government units that developed and implemented policies, projects, and programs that help alleviate poverty and cause positive impact to the community, provide facilities accessible to all, and promote freedom.
A plaque of recognition plus P60,000 cash was received by the city of Cagayan de Oro.
