07 Sep CdeO Barangay Officials Identified as Drug Protectors Included in Intelligence Watch List
Chairman on Police, Fire and Public Safety committees, City Councilor Romeo Calizo, disclosed that there are barangay officials in Cagayan de Oro who act as drug protectors. This was the statement given by Calizo after DILG Secretary Ismael Mike Sueno claimed that there are up to 1,000 barangay captains who are alleged to be protectors of illegal drugs.
Calizo said that the names of the said officials were already included in the intelligence watch list, threatening that they will face the consequences in opposing the Oplan-Tokhang.
The police operations are now focused on the drug protectors as confirmed by Calizo, since the police no longer worry about drug responders.
