ICYDK, Candy’s Cafe is an amazing French restaurant loved by foodies all over the City of Golden Friendship. It was created by Candy Lu due to her passion for cooking and baking. The restaurant first opened in 2003, years after she returned from her study at the prestigious Le Cordon Bleu Paris, married a Kagay-anon, and migrated to Cagayan de Oro.

“I really wanted to open my own restaurant. I might as well do something I really want. I had a hard time for two to three years. I had a hard time explaining my food. At that point, people don’t understand using herbs. What is this, what sagbot (grass) is this?” Candy said, expressing that she had to adjust her recipes because of Kagay-anons unique preferences.

Candy admitted that she had a hard time at first and they only kept the restaurant going by focusing on pastries. Three years after, Candy’s Cafe just clicked and as of now, it’s still one of the most visited restaurants in Cagayan de Oro, known for its delicious cakes and desserts.
