27 Oct CDO City Council to Deliberate on 2017 Budget Soon
Soon, the 18th City Council of Cagayan de Oro will be deliberating on the executive budget for the year 2017.
For the said year’s projected budget, Mayor Oscar Moreno mentioned in his budget message that it will be worth P5 billion intended for the General Fund (P4,621,842,141) and Special Account/Operation (P378,157,859) of the city’s economic enterprises.
32 percent of the P5 billion budget, P1.60 billion in figures, will be for the General Public Services. It will be utilized for the regulatory of the city, for administrative overhead, and for programs that will promote public safety and order and for the Judiciary.
31 percent of the said budget or P1.289 billion will be for the city’s social services divided into two groups, Social Security, Social Services and Welfare, and Health, Nutrition and Population Control. 59 percent of it or in figures, P921,806,328, will be allocated for health, nutrition and hospital services which includes the complementary Point of Care program amounting P50,000,000 for 20,800 enrollees, and the Philhealth Indigency Program in the amount of P240,000,000 for 100,000 beneficiaries, among others. With regards to the social security, social services and welfare, it will be allocated with P643,427,109 for the execution of administrative support services, and social services and welfare.
For economic services, the city will be allocating P1,817,040,897 to it. And out of that amount, P112,658,970 will be for the operation and maintenance of the City Engineering Office, P91,919,908 for the City Equipment Depot, P53,455,093 for agriculture services, P53,149,402 for environment and natural resources, and P27,461,313 for veterinary services.
