06 Oct CDO City Council Favors Separation of Tagpangi NHS-Tuburan Annex from Its Mother School
In 2003, Barangay Tuburan approved a resolution which requested the city mayor to open a secondary school in the said barangay. The DepEd regional director then insinuated no objection with the operation of Tuburan National High School, that following year, as long as it is subjected to some terms and conditions like the acquisition of a school site. And in response to this resolution, the committees on education and on laws and rules being chaired by Councilors Suzette Magtajas-Daba and Ian Mark Nacaya gave their support to its realization.
And in the recent regular session of the Cagayan de Oro City Council as headed by Vice Mayor Rainier Joaquin V. Uy, they are in favor of the resolution and have no objection with regards to separating the Tagpangi National High School-Tuburan Annex from its mother school Tagpangi National School, and will be named Tuburan National High School.
As cited in the resolution, the barangay said that the Tagpangi National High School has been existing for 12 years already as an annex school. The barangay council of Tuburan is also requesting the city government of Cagayan de Oro to donate a 12,080 square meter lot in Tuburan, in favor of DepEd, and make it as the site of the said Tuburan National High School.
