Cagayan de Oro Gov’t Finally Turns Over New P86-Million EREID Facility To NMMC

Mga higala! The City Government of Cagayan de Oro has finally turned over the new P86-million Northern Mindanao Medical Center-Cagayan de Oro Center for Emerging and Re-emerging Infectious Diseases (NMMC-CDO CEREID) in Brgy. San Simon today, April 8, 2021!

This 2-story medical facility has a 150-bed capacity and is located in a 2.5-hectare city-owned lot. It will greatly augment the hospital’s capability in fighting the COVID-19 pandemic and other infectious diseases in the future.

During the turn-over ceremony, Mayor Oscar Moreno expressed that:

“This is an investment for the future. Up to my last breath, I will support this (medical facility) as this will define the future of Cagayan de Oro and Northern Mindanao, and even Mindanao, insofar as what the present city leaders have done during this pandemic. Indeed, this is history being made… and my heart is full.”
