26 Jul Cagayan de Oro and Iligan Schools Are National Science and Technology Week 2016 Quiz Bowl Champions
In the recently held National Science and Technology Week 2016 hosted by the Department of Science and Technology Region 10,schools from Cagayan de Oro and Iligan brought home the championship.
Oro Christian Grade School composed of Ethan Rey Dominic Magaro and Raphael Joseph Gaane, with their coach Wenelyn Obguia, emerged as the champion in Elementary Level quiz bowl garnering a total of 35 points in the final round against the 25 points from City Central School‘s team of Pauline Mae Comaling and Maria Meliza Rocat with coach Elena Galarrita which landed, on the second spot, and Xavier University Grade School‘s team of Rey Stephen L. Chua and Alyanna Claire L. Mejias, with coaches Conception Bucod and Corazon Vasallo, on the third spot.

In the High School Quiz Bowl, Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology College of Education-Integrated Development School (MSU-IIT CED IDS) composed of Abdel-Nasher S. Tanggor and Ronald Stephen A. Galorio, with coaches Odyssa Natividad M. Molo and Ivy Claire V. Mordeno stole the championship from defending champion Gusa Regional Science High School formed with John Benedict Lamorin and Iryll Dave Plazuela and coach Joan Ohay through a triple tie breaker with Merry Child School‘s team of Karl Lou Rodriguez and Eloisa Jane L. Baclayon, with coach Rachel Anne S. Tropel. The three teams scored 48 points in total.
