26 Nov CDO Journalist Manhandled By Drunk Police Officer @ Brgy. Canitoan
Mga higala! Rene Abris, a member of the Cagayan de Oro Press Club (COPC) was allegedly manhandled by a drunk police officer last Sunday, November 22, 2020, in Brgy. Canitoan!
According to a statement by COPC President Manuel Jaudian, Abris was at a restaurant in the mentioned barangay, talking to the owner– Brgy. Captain Joshua Taboclaon, when the said police officer, identified as Lieutenant Colonel Rey Tabocloan, rudely interrupted their conversation (without any provocation).
When Abris was then about to exit the restaurant, the officer suddenly punched him in the back.
This prompted Abris to run to his car. But, Taboclaon followed him and tried to open his vehicle’s door while shouting “Media ka? Wa ko nahadlok”!
The COPC greatly condemns this incident and has called on the Philippine National Police of Region 10 (PNP-10) to investigate and punish the errant police officer.
