Mga higala! The first-ever Medical and Law Scholarship Programs of Cagayan de Oro City are now finally open!
Those interested to pursue their doctor or lawyer goals can officially apply starting today, May 2, 2023.

MEDICAL SCHOLARSHIP
Nature of Scholarship Grant
The LGU CDO Medical Scholarship Program (MSP) is offered for the pursuit of a 5-year medical degree program. It covers actual tuition, matriculation, books allowance, and other fees. Further, LGU CDO Medical Scholarship Program (MSP) shall provide living allowances and other related fees during the internship of students.
General Qualifications
- A Filipino citizen living in the Philippines;
- Resident of Cagayan de Oro City;
- Must not be more than 35 years old upon application;
- Combined annual family income not exceeding 450,000;
- A graduating student or a graduate of any 4-year undergraduate course from any higher educational institution recognized by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED);
- A Latin honor or have at least 85% General Weighted Average in his/her Bachelor’s Degree;
- Must be an incoming freshman upon admission to Medical School;
- Must have not had a record of being dropped from a medical school or any medical scholarship;
- Passed the entrance examinations and complied with other requirements for admission into a medical degree;
- Obtained 80 or above score in the National Medical Admission Test in the LGU-identified partner government institution;
- Must pass panel interview with LGU-CSO Review and Screening Committee;
- Must not have availed any scholarship grants that require return service after graduation;
- Must be willing to render two (2) years of Return Service for each year of scholarship in the city government-owned medical facility;
- Must be pursuing a medical degree in any partner institution in Cagayan de Oro City.
- Priorities shall be given to alumni City Scholars, applicants coming from marginalized sectors of the society, victims of calamity, dependents of government employees or those who are working BHWs, and other related functions in the community.

LAW SCHOLARSHIP
Nature of Scholarship Grant
The LGU CDO Law Scholarship Program (LSP) is offered for the pursuit of a 4-year law degree program. It covers actual tuition, matriculation, books allowance and other fees including financial assistance during BAR exam preparations. The student is required to take the BAR Exam after graduation.
General Qualifications
- A Filipino citizen living in the Philippines;
- Resident of Cagayan de Oro City;
- Not more than 35 years old upon application;
- Combined annual family income not exceeding 450,000;
- A graduating student or a graduate of an appropriate undergraduate from any higher educational institution recognized by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED);
- A Latin honor or have at least 85% General Weighted Average in his/her Bachelor’s Degree;
- Must be an incoming freshman upon admission to Law School;
- Must have not had a record of being dropped from a law school or any law scholarship;
- Passed the entrance examinations and complied with other requirements for admission into a law degree;
- Obtained 70 or above score in the PHILSAT in the LGU identified partner institution;
- Must pass panel interview with LGU-CSO Review and Screening Committee;
- Must not have availed any scholarship grants that require return service after graduation;
- If an applicant is employed; recommendation from the employer should be provided as a requirement.
- Must render 1 year of Return Service for each year of scholarship in the city after passing the Bar Exam;
- Priorities shall be given to alumni City Scholars, applicants coming from marginalized sectors of the society, victims of calamity, alumni scholars and those who are actively involved in community advocacies and programs in any Non-Government Organization or Civil Society Organization
