The Department of Social Welfare and Development in Central Visayas (DSWD-7) donated 3,750 relief goods to the DSWD Field Office X in Cagayan de Oro City.

According to a report from Inquirer’s Cebu Daily News, this donation is to boost the food assistance in the city due to the recent flood where 1,654 families were displaced.

The delivery documents were signed by the supply officer of DSWD X, Arnel Radaza.

Officials of DSWD-7 started loading the relief goods last January 21.

It can be recalled that the city was drowned by the flood last January 16, 2017, due to torrential rains. 6,827 victims or about 1,654 families were evacuated, said Fernando Dy, Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) officer-in-charge.

The province suffered badly as the initial damage assessment for infrastructure was estimated to cost P1 million.
