02 Mar CDO To Punish Establishments That Use Halal Logo Without Proper Certification
Mga higala! The City Council of Cagayan de Oro is now aiming to pass an ordinance that will implement a fine and/or penalty to establishments that use the HALAL logo without proper accreditation or certification!
With this, eateries, restaurants, and more who irresponsibly promote their food or products as “halal” will finally face punishment.
The said ordinance will also require establishments to utilize separate storage and display areas and halal customers lane for halal products.
ICYDK, this is the initiative of City Councilor Girlie Balaba and Ian Mark Nacaya, and is in accordance with Akta Republika 10817 aka the Halal Export Development and Promotion Program.
