20 Apr CEPALCO Warns Against Flying Kites Near Power Lines Due To Risk Of Electrocution
Mga higala! The Cagayan Electric Power & Light Corporation, Inc. or CEPALCO is now warning all Kagay-anons against the flying of kites near power lines around the city, due to the possible risk of electrocution!
According to www.awindofchange.com, if you are careless enough to get your kite caught in a power line, DON’T TOUCH THE LINES OR THE KITE!
Power lines carry well over 7,000 volts and the electricity can easily travel down your kite lines and to you regardless of the type of line you are using.
ICYDK, even though a kite string is not a conductor of electricity, it can easily become contaminated with dirt and sweat, which can then conduct electrical current.
