In an article posted by Sunstar.com, the Cagayan Electric Power and Light Company, Inc. (CEPALCO) has warned their customers against fake inspectors and collectors who present themselves as coming from the company.

In an advisory posted by CEPALCO in social media, the electric company received reports regarding a group of men who visits there and make them believe that they are inspectors and collectors from CEPALCO so that they can inspect wirings and collect payments of electricity bills.

These men are also said to have their own identification cards (IDs) to certify that they are not fake.

CEPALCO clarified that they do not have field collectors and emphasizes that all payments and transactions should only be done at the CEPALCO office and other accredited collecting banks and centers.

The company also said that they indeed have inspectors who are not allowed to go beyond the electric meter of the house of the clients.

CEPALCO is encouraging their clients to report if any CEPALCO inspector is acting suspiciously by dialing 162 (Misortel or Philcom), 0917-319-4278, 0998-965-7885, or report to any police precincts, or even to the office of the barangay chairman.
