China Offers to Build Rehabilitation Centers for Drug Dependents in the Philippines

On September 9, Friday, President Rodrigo Duterte said before the Filipino community in Indonesia that China offered to build rehabilitation centers at Fort Magsaysay in Nueva Ecija for drug dependents in the Philippines.

As he spoke, “China offered to build the rehab. I think they have already started in Magsaysay. They are bringing the materials there already.”

He added, “Only China ang magtulong sa atin, They [the others] just give you principles of law, and nothing else,” pertaining to the United States and other critics disapproving his scheme on the war against illegal drugs.

Although, President Duterte clarified that he had no argument with the United States.

He expressed his gratitude towards China saying, “I would like to thank China for being generous to us.”

Rehabilitation centers are yet to be built since the president is controlling on the budget approved by the previous administration.

President Duterte stated, “The budget does not include treatment and rehabilitation for 3.7 million drug addicts.”
