10 May City Council Approves 1-Peso Increase in Motorela Fare
Mga higala! The City Council of Cagayan de Oro has finally approved the petition for a P1.00 increase in motorela fare, to help drivers adjust with the increasing price of their everyday needs.
This action now only awaits the signature of City Mayor Oscar Moreno. And with that, the new motorela rates will be P7 for the regular fare, P5.50 for high school/college students, senior citizens, and persons with disabilities (PWDs), and P4 for elementary pupils.
This new ordinance will also punish drivers who will commit overcharging with an administrative fine of P500.MN
AND, in case you wanna know, the Alyansa-mP3 (Makatarunganong Usbaw, Pletehan alang sa Pamilya ug mga Pasahero) and the Federation of Motorela Operators and Drivers in Cagayan de Oro (FEMODCO) are the groups who submitted the said petition to increase CDO’s motorela fare.
