27 Dec City Council Committee on Energy Plans to Remove Tangled Wires
During the meeting of the City Council committee on energy presided over by Councilor Teodulfo E. Lao, Jr, they have planned to drive its campaign regarding the removal of unused and non-functional telecommunication wires and CATV wire/cable of which bring danger to persons and properties.
“Balik Lantaw”, a short video presentation that was made by the Office of Building Official (OBO) which displayed the achievements on the initial drive conducted in 2002 , was showed and among the agencies and groups which participated in the said activity were National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) in partnership with the Institute of Electronics Engineers of the Philippines, CEO, OBO, and Telephone Companies.
The meeting felt the presence of the representatives from the City Building Office, Misamis Oriental Rural Electric Services, Inc. (MORESCO-1), City Engineers’ Office (CEO), Misamis Oriental telephone System Inc (MISORTEL), Cagayan Electric Power & Light Company, Inc (CEPALCO), Parasat Cable, Globe Communications, Roads and Traffic Administration, National Telecommunications Commission, City Planning & Development Office, City Legal and City Public Services Office, Jade Cable, and Smart Communications.
Still during the meeting, an Issue Paper was submitted by the NTC which concentrated primarily on some of the factors that affect this unresolved problem and also, the failure of implementing the Ordinance which was enacted years back for the said cause.
