In an article posted by Sunstar.com, the Cagayan de Oro City Mayor through the City Government of Cagayan de Oro will be proposing the amount of P5.8 billion for the budget of the year 2018.

According to the Chairperson of the Committee on Finance, Councilor Edna Dahino, the discussion of the budget will start next week.

She also added that the budget will be divided into 2 funds; the General Fund which will be allocated P5,382,396,280 and the Special Account with the amount of P417,603,720.

The General Fund is where the city gets a budget in funding priority projects for next year, while the Special Account finances the economic enterprises’ operations in our city, such as markets and other establishments of the like under government management.

Dahino assured that the City Council together with her committee will process and examine the proposed budget for its transparency to the people.

As remembered, last year’s approved proposal is worth P4.5 billion and this year is P5.4 billion, so far, this is the biggest budget which will be released under Moreno’s administration.
