City Gov’t Denounces Social Media Rumors About CDO Lockdown On September 16

Mga higala! The city government has posted a clarification, denying the rumors on social media that there will be a lockdown starting this September 16, 2020, in Cagayan de Oro!

The said rumors were fueled by a leaked document from the office of the DILG that insinuated an upcoming General Community Quarantine (GCQ) in CDO, Bukidnon, Misamis Oriental, and several other areas.

According to DILG City Director Engr. Jane Docallos:

“Whoever circulated this in social media – I want to tell you that this is JUST a transmittal of a document sent to my office. DO NOT MAKE IT EVER APPEAR nga there is a lockdown or GCQ in CDO because of this. It is only the NIATF thru the recommendation of the RIATF who can declare such.”

The mentioned document is just a transmittal of the resolution of Misamis Oriental IATF that urges the mentioned LGUs to request the National IATF to declare a GCQ, due to the increasing cases of COVID-19 in the region.
