The Deputy Commander of Task Force Ranao, Colonel Romeo Brawner said that hostages of the remaining terrorists hiding in one building near Lake Lanao have all been rescued.

In an article from Mindanews.com, Brawner said that the government forces did all what they can do which ultimately freed the hostages and which he noted will finally lead to the fall of terrorism in Marawi City after over five months of being under siege.

With the will of the military to put an end to the long months of standoff, Brawner said that terrorists should either give and surrender themselves or get killed by government troops.

Last Sunday, October 22, he said that gunshots can still be heard from around the area where 30 terrorists, including those who were wounded and five foreign nationals, are alive and hiding.

Female members and the wives of the members of the terrorist group have not yet surrendered despite the encouragement of the government forces.

Brawner added that those who will consider surrendering will be treated nicely and will be attended to with respect.

Rescued hostages will likewise be taken care of and will be given necessary medical attention so that they can return to their loved ones safe and sound.
