Mga higala! The House of Representatives has approved House Bill No. 6770, a bill that requires employers to give every employee in the Philippines a 10-day incentive leave with pay.

According to a report from ABS-CBN News, this proposed amendment to our Labor Code aims to provide all workers who have rendered at least one (1) year of service a yearly incentive leave of 10 days.

However, this privilege will not be applicable to those who are “enjoying a vacation leave of at least 10 days with pay, and those in establishments regularly employing less than 10 people or in those exempt from granting this benefit by the Labor Secretary after considering the viability or condition of such establishment.”

“The granting of such incentive boosts the morale and satisfaction of employees which is manifested in their increased productivity,” said Baguio City Rep. Mark Go, principal author of the bill.
