24 Mar Congress Approves Bill Granting Addt’l Powers To President Duterte Vs COVID-19 Crisis

Mga higala! The House of Representatives has approved House Bill No. 6616, which would declare a national emergency and grant President Rodrigo Duterte additional powers to deal with the current COVID-19 crisis!
According to CNN, this will give the President more authority to address the coronavirus outbreak and possibly realign the Philippines’ 2020 budget and allocation of funds!
This would also give Duterte the power to purchase essential medical supplies (PPE, testing kits, etc), assign venues that may be used as quarantine centers, acquire goods and services for communities affected by COVID-19, and more!
