11 Aug Congressman Files Bill Granting 20% Electric Bill Discount To Iligan City & Lanao Areas
Mga higala! Congressman Celso G. Regencia is now pushing for a bill that grants a 20% discount for the electric bills of the people in Iligan City, Lanao del Norte, and Lanao del Sur!
Under the said bill, House Bill No. 2317, residential, commercial, and industrial electric consumers in the said areas must be given the said discount privilege since the rest of Mindanao is benefiting from the power produced by the hydroelectric plants in:
- Maria Cristina Falls (Iligan)
- Agus River (LDN to LDS)
- Lake Lanao (Lanao del Sur)
If passed into law, the National Economic Development and the Mindanao Development Authority will be mandated to “give preference to Iligan City, Lanao del Norte, and Lanao del Sur in the economic development being the host areas of this natural wealth.”
